Our Commitment
Vanyx is committed to maintaining a respectful, high-signal community where serious research and collaboration can thrive. This Code of Conduct applies to all users, contributors, and participants in the community.
Expected Behavior
We expect all community members to:
- Be respectful: Treat others with dignity and respect, even when disagreeing
- Maintain high signal: Focus on substantive contributions and avoid low-quality content
- Cite sources: When making claims, cite your sources and give credit to prior work
- Be open to criticism: Welcome feedback and be willing to revise your thinking
- Stay on topic: Keep discussions relevant to the science, mathematics, and research challenges of the community you're in
- Use the breakthrough template: When posting breakthroughs, use the required template
Prohibited Behavior
The following behaviors are not tolerated:
- Harassment: Personal attacks, insults, threats, or intimidation
- Hate speech: Discriminatory language or content based on race, gender, religion, nationality, or other protected characteristics
- Doxxing: Sharing private information about others without consent
- Illegal content: Content that violates laws or regulations
- Spam: Repetitive, low-quality, or off-topic posts
- Impersonation: Pretending to be someone else or providing false information
- Trolling: Deliberately disruptive or inflammatory behavior
Enforcement
Violations of this Code of Conduct may result in:
- Warnings
- Content removal
- Temporary suspension
- Permanent ban
Enforcement decisions are made at the discretion of moderators and administrators. See our Moderation Policy for details.
Reporting
If you witness or experience behavior that violates this Code of Conduct, please report it using the reporting tools available on posts and comments, or contact us through the Contact page.
Reports are reviewed promptly, and we take all reports seriously.
High-Signal Culture
Vanyx values high-signal contributions. This means:
- Substantive posts with clear claims, evidence, and reasoning
- Constructive criticism that helps improve ideas
- Questions that advance understanding
- Collaboration and knowledge sharing
Low-signal content (vague claims, unsubstantiated speculation, off-topic discussions) may be removed or moved to appropriate categories.
