Terms of Service

Acceptance of Terms

By accessing and using Vanyx, you accept and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, you may not use the service.

User Accounts

  • You must provide accurate information when creating an account
  • Real name is required at signup (stored privately)
  • You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account
  • You are responsible for all activity under your account
  • You must be at least 18 years old to create an account

Forum Posting Rules

When posting in the community forum, you agree to:

  • Post content relevant to Vanyx challenges, research topics, or the mission
  • Use the breakthrough template when posting in "Breakthroughs & Findings"
  • Cite sources when making claims or referencing prior work
  • Respect other users and maintain a high-signal, respectful culture
  • Not post illegal, harmful, or offensive content
  • Not engage in harassment, hate speech, or doxxing
  • Not spam or post duplicate content

Content Ownership

You retain ownership of content you post. By posting, you grant Vanyx a license to display, distribute, and use your content on the platform.

You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to post any content you submit, including respecting copyright and intellectual property rights.

Contributor Recognition Program

Vanyx credits the people whose work advances its challenges. The following terms apply to research you submit:

  • You keep ownership. You remain the owner and, where applicable, the inventor of the research and ideas you create. These Terms do not assign your intellectual property to Vanyx and do not grant you equity or ownership in Vanyx.
  • License to operate. By submitting research you grant Vanyx a license to use, analyze, and integrate it for the platform's challenges and mission. Work done with your own API key (BYOK) or in private mode is excluded.
  • Named attribution (default, free). Where your contribution materially shapes a result the platform produces, you are credited by name.
  • First-to-contribute priority. Contribution priority is recorded by submission timestamp.
  • Recognition. Solved campaigns and Grand Challenges earn verified recognition (attribution, Σ-mass, Ledger nodes) — not cash payouts. Any future prize rail stays behind an owner-gated escrow switch and is not live.
  • Commercialized IP — by separate written agreement only. If Vanyx ever seeks to commercialize technology that materially derives from your contribution, any revenue-share, assignment, or licensing of your IP will be offered to you under a separate, explicit, signed agreement. Nothing is assigned, promised, or owed automatically by these Terms, and any true inventor is named in accordance with applicable patent law.
  • Economic reality. Vanyx is an early-stage research platform. Contributions are made in pursuit of the mission, not as a guarantee of financial return.

Data & AI Training

Vera, our research AI, may learn from verification-checked work only with your explicit, opt-in consent, set in Settings → Data & Training (off by default). Work done with your own API key (BYOK) or in private mode, and your unpublished novel research, are never used for training. You can withdraw consent or erase your training data at any time. See the Privacy Policy for details.

User Responsibility

Community posts represent the views of their authors. Claims made in the forum may be incorrect, incomplete, or speculative. Official Vanyx research is published in the Research section.

You are responsible for the accuracy and legality of content you post. Vanyx does not verify or endorse user-generated content.

Moderation

Vanyx reserves the right to moderate content, remove posts, and suspend or ban accounts that violate these terms or our Code of Conduct. See our Moderation Policy for details.

Prohibited Activities

You may not:

  • Violate any laws or regulations
  • Infringe on intellectual property rights
  • Harass, threaten, or harm other users
  • Post spam, malware, or malicious content
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the service
  • Interfere with the operation of the service
  • Impersonate others or provide false information

Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time for violations of these terms or for any other reason we deem necessary.

AI-assisted scoring (future feature)

If Vanyx displays model-generated scores, rankings, or "review-like" signals about user or third-party content, those outputs are assistive only. They are not peer review, not a journal decision, not legal or medical advice, and not a guarantee of truth, safety, or impact. Human reviewers and authors remain responsible for substantive claims.

The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. Vanyx does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or usefulness of any content on the platform.
